A flight attendant struggles to cope with a mob of meerkats on a plane that won’t sit down and fasten their seat belts.
Meerkats, Meerkats, Meerkats. This is the largest number of meerkats I’ve ever drawn. In fact, I don’t believe I had attempted to draw one before now. They are strange looking creatures. While drawing them, I kept thinking that what I drew didn’t look right, but then I would look at a reference photo and see that they indeed looked peculiar in that too.
I was reminded that there was a meerkat in Disney’s The Lion King, but I refrained from looking at that as I didn’t want to subconsciously draw a plethora of Timon-esque meerkats. Doing so might have resulted with a warthog or two on the plane as well.
I haven’t seen Snakes on a Plane, but I imagine the snakes are a little more disorderly in the movie than the meerkats appear to be on this plane. Here, they seem to be quite orderly. All but one are in a seat. Their recalcitrance, much to the dismay of the flight attendant, is in their chronic uprightness.
To be honest, I was pretty much over meerkat drawing by the end of this. I wanted to have a full plane, but maybe three meerkats and a flight attendant in a Cessna would have sufficed. On the bright side, I may be able to smuggle this in to the Christmas drawings by giving one of the meerkats a Santa hat and titling it “The Forty-Ninth Day of Christmas”.
